TWO WALLS OF CLAY, FOLDED TOWARDS EACH OTHER LIKE CUPPED HANDS.
A handbuilt vase in unglazed, terracotta-coloured stoneware. The body tapers to a narrow foot and opens at the top into two soft folds that curl towards each other, leaving a deep, dark opening between them.
Made by hand by NUA Ceramic and high-fired at 1230°C, the surface is left raw so the colour and grain of the clay come through. Each piece varies slightly, and it is made in three heights: about 25, 30 and 34 cm.
Stems optional. It is sculpture enough on its own.
