THE SURFACE OF THE MOON, COILED BY HAND AND FIRED TWICE.
A hand-coiled vase in stoneware with chamotte, its surface pitted and cratered like the face of the moon. It is built slowly by hand, left to dry for about a week, fired at 1230°C, then glazed and fired again.
Each one is made to order by MAKU Ceramic in Türkiye, so no two are quite alike. The chamotte, clay that has already been fired and ground, gives the body its strength and the surface its grit.
Fill it with a single dry stem, or with nothing at all.
